Implementing uninterruptible power supply and Earth systems strategy
Implementing an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) in organization increases lifespan of electronic and computer instrument and prevents oscillations and power outage as well as an earthing system that helps all these works.
Learn more about UPS
UPS means an uninterruptible power supply. UPS is an electric source of power that its major work is supplying necessary power without interruption. In the other words UPS acts like an uninterruptible power supply that uses saved energy in battery and supply consuming instrument needs for power. UPS system sets in civil power and consuming device. In addition to setting and fixing network power, it avoids from noise and network problems in sensitive devices. One of the important tasks that UPS do is when the power interrupts it enters in to the circuit immediately and supplies necessary power such that it’s needed to RESET or turn off the device. UPS system should protect from sensitive devices against power oscillations and prevent from potential costs of repairing. In fact UPS in addition to protecting from electric devices, make the power circuit stable and helps sensitive programs to be online.
The advantages of using UPS system
Using such a supporting system of energy helps to solve potential problems of power outrage and protect from total power outrage. UPS device has some electronic filters that remove noises and power fluctuations as well as protect consumers against thunder and high voltage. It sends a fixed power circuit in form of a stable wave. Those UPSs that are used for normal applications are ONLINE types with one-cell lead acid battery or nickel cadmium and 500 to 2000 power ampere meters. Their price is between 500 to 1 million Tomans. Bigger UPSs have more power and better power output. UPSs have different forms and sizes.
Different forms of UPS have various powers in battery and used circuit. One of the famous kind of UPSs is online circuit UPS. They are famous because they can provide a good protection. The possibility of short connection or sudden power charge in circuit or other kinds of power dangers in standard UPS is zero so they are good protectors. The measurement unit of UPS is multiplication voltage amount in output circuit.
More powerful INVERTER device causes more powerful UPS. It means supporting more powers and numbers. On the other hand when used batteries have more potential, electrification time in power outrage case would be longer. Different UPSs have different features like alarms when an error or over load happens. Controller application on computer saves information and can turn off it.
An UPS has 4 important parts:
- Rectifier
- Battery
- DC convertor to AC (inventor)
- Switch
UPS in the simplest form normally feeds from AC port and simultaneously coordinates AC port with charger and changes it to DC circuit in battery. Immediately after AC port interrupts or isn’t good, INVENTER changes DC voltage of battery in to AC voltage of load. Standard UPS has technologies like Passive Standby, Line Interactive and Double Conversion.
Different kinds of UPS
The classification is in to 3 parts:
1- Offline UPS
This group active as substitute source when power interrupts.
2- Online UPS
In normal condition, supplying output in this kind of UPS happens after correcting input or clearing input from noise and voltage level. If there’s a technical problem, over load or increasing temperature, UPS changes to BYPASS mode.
3- Line interactive UPS
In general condition through PYPASS these UPSs transfers to TRANSFORMATOR. It acts like a charger and at last by this way AC output would supply.
Power and range of devices
UPSs have different powers that they are designed according to consuming power load. This power usually shows in Val Amp. In market you can find these models: 600VA، 1KVA، 1.5KVA، 2KVA، 6KVA، 10KVA، 15KVA، 20KVA
Backup Time
Backup time of UPS device is according to special sealed lead acid batteries that are connected. The batteries unit is Amp hour and directly related to backup time. The batteries place in three ways:
- External batteries near to UPS or inside case separately
- Batteries place inside UPS device
- In most cases it is possible to set up the battery on UPSs internal and external
UPS setup
Setting UPSs in low power range is possible with their guides but in order to setup devices with high power or with an external battery an expert from Kavosh Ferasat Rayan Company should do this.
